Ray Munchel Loved The Blues

Raymond Munchel died December 24th, 2014 from pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband to Mary Munchel and devoted father to Raymond Jr, Patrick and Thea Munchel.

Ray loved music. He had  incredible knowledge of the Blues and other esoteric music from the 1960's and onward. Ray and Mary started volunteering for the Blues Society in 1993. As years passed, Ray became a board member. For many years, Ray and Mary did an incredible job taking on the responsibility of the 'hospitality tent' for the Cincy Blues Fest. The hospitality tent fed and nutured many famous blues artists and hardworking volunteers alike.

Outspoken, Ray loved to discuss politics. He had a hobby of donning a sandwich sign and doing a one man protest in front of various businesses or government entities. He also enjoyed doing Revoluntionary War reenactments.

There will be a benefit for Ray at Murray's Taven, January 18, 2015. For more info: http://cincyblues.org/node/1138

Hopefully he's up there ....playing endless golf, going to the Reds game and listening to music. Miss ya 'Ray Eye'.
