Upcoming National Acts

July

Tue 07/01/14 The Robert Cray Band - Taft Theatre, Cincinnati, OH

Thu 07/03/14    Patrick Sweany     Southgate House Revival / Revival Room (Newport, KY)

Patrick, who played the Cincy Blues Fest many years ago, writes great original songs. He's now playing with a band, doing more of an Americana style rather than blues solo acoustic fingerpicking, but I'm listing it because I think it would still appeal to readers of this site.

Sun 07/13/14 ZZ Ward - Sawyer Point / Bunbury Festival - Cincinnati, OH

I found Ms. Ward listed under Blues on Pollstar, although I had never heard of her. She has a very contemporary sound with a style and vocals similar to Adele, and just as good in my opinon. Great songwriting, and on occasion she plays a mean blues harp.

August

Fri 08/01/14 Cincy Blues Fest -  Sawyer Point - Cincinnati, OH

Jarekus Singleton

This up and coming young artist is making a splash -

“A great, new blues talent…young, original, soulful and intense…superb, blistering guitar” –BLUES & RHYTHM

“Jarekus Singleton is making some serious blues noise...blending modern-day blues and emotionally intense soul with melodic, hot-toned lead guitar, funk-seasoned rhythms and hip-hop flavored lyrics” –LIVING BLUES

Selwyn Birchwood

Selwyn and band are new Alligator Records recording artists - their debut album releases June 10, so that means we'll be seeing them hot out of the oven. Big baritone voice and a hot guitar.

Sat 08/02/14 Cincy Blues Fest -  Sawyer Point

Guy Forsyth

Acoustic blues rock singer songwriter based out of Texas.
