Rest In Peace Michele

On Saturday, the music world lost a wonderful person and dear friend.  Michele Feaster, "II Juicy" to many of us, lost her fight with cancer.  She was a wonderful musician, entertainer, and person.  She will be missed.

Since 2004 II Juicy (both the woman and the band that bears her name) have been bringing their party to nightclubs and festivals around the Greater Cincinnati area.  They won our Cincy Blues Challenge in 2006 and have been great friends of the Cincy Blues Society for years.  Michele worked with our Blues In The Schools kids, teaching them about stage presence and the importance of entertaining the crowd.  No one could have done it better.

Funeral arrangements: the homegoing celebration for Michele Feaster (Ms. II Juicy) will be held this Saturday August 14th 2010 at The House of Joy, 5912 Hamilton Ave viewing is at 11am.

Blues Challenge Solo/Duo Winners

It was our first time having the Solo/Duo Challenge separate from the bands, and it seemed really right.  Mansion Hill Tavern proved to be the perfect intimate location with a good vibe. The grill was smokin’ and a comfortably large crowd showed up to hear the music and cheer everyone on. We were impressed by the uniformly high quality of the acts and I’m sure the judges had trouble differentiating between them.

Congratulations To The Band Winners Of The Cincy Blues Challenge

Despite a forecast of storms earlier in the week it turned out to be a beautiful hot day, as hot as all the music emanating from Germania Park. The pavilion was full of fans relaxing or dancing to the music, drinking beer, and enjoying barbecue, cheesecake on a stick and other good eats.
